Glenville Timberwrights has many techniques which utilize efficiency in labor, construction energy, use of resources, and money. Many modern stick-built homes try to cut costs by using the bare minimum and inferior materials. The process is inherently wasteful and inaccurate.

Beams, trusses, and bents are built in our facility from reclaimed timbers. Our building process produces almost no job-site waste. High-tech enclosure systems make our homes highly efficient to heat and cool. Timber frame homes pass the test of time to become heirlooms, increasing in value while extending the original resource outlay. Lesser homes require more remodeling, maintenance, repairs, and ultimately need to be rebuilt. Building something that lasts is always more efficient.

A tight enclosure is just the start. We will help you design energy efficiency into your home on an operational cost basis as well. High efficiency HVAC systems are the most basic of cost saving methods.  Consider using radiant in-floor heat, geothermal or ground water heat pumps, solar hot water heating, photovoltaic cells, wind generators, and more. Installation costs are coming down as more units are produced and Federal and state tax credits are now available to reduce initial cost and increase return on investment.
