WHO WE ARE Glenville Timberwrights is a locally owned company that has been in business for over twenty-five years, formerly located on Highway 113 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. We recently moved into our newly-built timber frame offices and workshop at 1301 Lake Street in the Devils Lake Industrial Park after a devastating flood in June 2008 destroyed our former shop and offices. As one of the Midwest’s premier timber frame home builders, we welcome you to set up a time with us to visit our new facility, so that you can see firsthand what a truly “green built” commercial building looks like. We can talk about the advantages and benefits that this type of construction has to offer over other methods of building. The beauty and aesthetics of being in a timber frame, will alone be worth the trip. Tom and Sue Holmes are the founders and driving force behind the Green Vision of the Glenville Timberwrights. Along with Les Pennington, general manager and long-time associate, and Heather Geyman, our designer , we are prepared to answer your questions on the many facets and applications of timber framing. Our beautiful homes are our legacy, built with quality and pride, along with a true commitment to the environment through our dedicated use of reclaimed timbers and energy-saving materials. You will witness our craftsmen’s expertise in the art of time-honored joinery techniques. Our team has worked on hundreds of homes bringing old world craftsmanship and responsible environmental awareness and stewardship to the building process.
The process begins with reclaimed antique timbers, mostly douglas fir from old warehouses and commercial structures, many built over 100 years ago. No new trees are used, and beautiful flooring, beams, trusses, railings, staircases, and fireplace mantels are produced with timber you just can't find anymore. There is a joy in making something new out of the old, and beauty is revived from material that might otherwise be destined for the landfill. Glenville Timberwrights invites you to build the home of your dreams, a true masterpiece and heirloom for your family, while remaining true to the good stewardship of the planet and energy efficiency. |
